The Markus IRO winery is located in Gols in the middle of the traditional wine-growing area, where about 20 hectares of vines are cultivated in excellent sites such as Gabarinza or Heideboden. 30% of the vines are used for white wines, 70% for red wines. The Pannonian as well as continental influences due to high humidity as well as little precipitation favor the quality of IRO wines. The soil of the vineyards are covered by limestone, gravel, clay and sand.
