The Glen Scotia 12 Years Old SEASONAL Release Single Malt Scotch Whisky is made from unpeated distillations. These mature 11 years in first-fill bourbon casks and American oak hogsheads. Its last year, the whiskey matures in first-fill Oloroso hogsheads and heavily charred American oak casks. Gary Robinson, Executive Chef at The Balmoral Hotel has created a matching seasonal menu of 3 courses for this single malt: -Whisky-smoked salmon with apples and celeriac. -Grilled pork belly with whisky honey sauce and braised pearl barley -Salad with piched pears, whisky caramel and pecan toffee Tasting notes:Colour: Rich gold. Nose: Sweet, toffee, notes of apples, vanilla, salted caramel. Taste: Rich, creamy, vanilla, notes of brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg. Finish: Long lasting, nut, dried orange peel.
