The original Glasgow distillery was built in 1770 - later the distillery was taken over and eventually even closed. In 2013, however, there was a ray of hope. The distillery was re-established and production started again already in 2014. The Glasgow MALT RIOT Blended Malt Scotch Whisky is a blend of the single malt of the Glasgow Distillery and other Scottish single malts. This whisky is dedicated to the 1725 riots in Glasgow. The government intended to introduce a tax on malted barley. This led to frequent riots and finally to an uprising. Tasting notes:Colour: Amber. Nose: Sweet, fresh, beaten oak, notes of vanilla and hyacinth. Taste: Fruity, sweet, apples, spices, notes of caramel and candied pineapple. Finish: Long lasting, mild, milk chocolate.
