The wine company Gaja is one of the most famous in the world. In 1859 the winery was founded in Barbaresco by Giovanni Gaja. Giovanni Gaja was the great-grandfather of the current owner, Angelo Gaja. Around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced annually and the vineyard covers 92 hectares. This wine is named after the younger daughter of Angelo Gaja, Rossana (Rossi). Tasting notes:Golden yellow in the glass. In the nose soft, floral, nuances of citrus fruits as well as creamy honey. Very elegant on the palate with a pronounced character. Long lasting and fresh finish. Grape varieties: Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc. Aging: 6-7 months in barriques. Soil: marl, clay, limestone. Closure: Natural cork. Storage potential: Until 2025. The wine is excellent with fish dishes, shellfish as well as mussels.
