The Gaja wine company is one of the most famous in the world. In 1859 the winery in Barbaresco was founded by Giovanni Gaja. Giovanni Gaja was the great-grandfather of the current owner, Angelo Gaja. About 300.000 bottles of wine are produced annually and the vineyard covers 92 hectares. This wine is named after the younger daughter of Angelo Gaja, Rossana (Rossi).Tasting notes:Golden yellow in the glass. In the nose soft, mature and appealing to citrus fruits, Christmas pear, hay flowers and cream honey. On the palate delicate fruit impressions of zests, pome fruit and dried fruit as well as notes of wood and a noticeable acidity. Long lasting, strong, harmonious and fresh on the finish. Grape variety: Chardonnay (95%) and Sauvignon Blanc (5%). Aging: 6-7 months in barriques. Storage potential: Until 2028. Drinking temperature: 10-12°C. The wine goes well with fish and poultry.
