The word 'ETSU' translates as 'pleasure'. Etsu Double Orange Gin is distilled at the Akita Distillery in Akita Prefecture, Japan, on the island of Honshu. Akita Prefecture is located on the coast of the Sea of Japan and extends east to the Ou Mountains, the longest mountain range in Japan, from which Etsu Double Orange draws its fresh and bright aroma. The gin is macerated for seven days with traditional botanicals such as Japanese bitter orange, juniper berries, licorice root, angelica and coriander. After maceration, only the gin is distilled without the botanicals to allow the oils to develop. Only after distillation is fresh water from the mountains added, giving this gin its fresh taste.
